Since 1997, with the launch of Revised National TB Control Programme, New Delhi TB Centre is responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the programme in the state of Delhi in close liaison with State TB Control office and in the year 2005 it became the State TB Training and Demonstration Centre for NCT of Delhi.
The Centre provides teaching and training facilities to the under-graduate students of Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), interns of Lok Nayak Hospital and post graduate students of Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, Delhi University. It also has one Modular Training Programme in tuberculosis for fresh graduates and interns of MAMC. The Centre has also developed a Modular Training Programme on Bio-Statistics for medical post graduate students of Delhi University.
Under RNTCP the Centre is providing modular training to medical officers, senior TB lab supervisors, lab technicians, TB supervisors and DOTS Providers.
